Larkspur Underpass
Community Meeting
From Peter Caplan
(Perry Park East HOA) - On Thursday, Feb 21st
at 6:30 PM, there will be a public meeting held at the
Larkspur Fire House with the Douglas County Commissioners to
discuss the construction of an underpass to replace the
at-grade railroad crossing on Perry Park Ave. Several years
ago the town of Larkspur voted to prohibit the construction
of this underpass despite funding from the county.
Recently, the new mayor and town council have come out in
favor of this project and along with support from the fire
protection district, the school district, the sheriff’s
office, the local Larkspur merchants, and the Renaissance
Festival we hope to persuade the Commissioners to re-fund
this project which would eliminate time delays in responding
to public safety situations (fires & medical emergencies) as
well as reducing traffic congestion due to train crossings.
Please join us in
support of this project. If you have any questions
regarding this issue, please feel free to contact Peter
Caplan at the (303) 681-3463 or
p_caplan@msn.com
